Visual Arts Scotland 2022 – Lorna Fraser

We are delighted to announce Lorna Fraser has been awarded the second Partnership Residency with Visual Arts Scotland.

Lorna will travel to Sweeney’s Bothy on the Isle of Eigg in September, and has proposed to seek out and work with the Bryophytes growing on the island – low growing mosses and liverworts. Using a hand lens, ID book, camera and sketchbook, she will work to translate and share these overlooked plants first as drawings and then in porcelain.

Lorna is a ceramic artist combining traditional hand-built and industrial mould making techniques to create unique one-off pieces, small series of works and site-specific installations. A graduate of Gray’s School of Art Aberdeen, she has exhibited widely in the U.K. and internationally.
