The Bothy Project’s Partnership Residencies offers organisations the opportunity to fund an artist or researcher of their choice to undertake a residency in one of the bothies. This support will enable the individual to develop their practice through an immersive, dedicated period of work in a unique, off-grid residency cabin.
The programme is not just available to artists; we encourage the sponsorship of creatives working in a broad range of disciplines from science to crofting. During their residency participants are invited to share their skills or knowledge with the local community through hosting a workshop, event or open studio. Following their residency participants are invited to share their research with the wider public by submitting a blog entry.
The bothies available for the Partnership Residencies are Inshriach Bothy in the Cairngorms National Park, and Sweeney’s Bothy on the Isle of Eigg. Each location has essential amenities including a wood-burning stove for heating and cooking, access to water, composting toilets, outdoor shower facilities, and a few basic supplies.
