Bothy Project’s collaboration with Transmission Gallery involved artists Najma Abukar, Adebusola Ramsay, Clarinda Tse and Matthew Arthur Williams. The project started in the late autumn of 2019, but took a hiatus in 2020 due to Covid-19, but by the end of 2021 each will each have undertaken a residency at Sweeney’s Bothy on Eigg and worked with a mentor to discuss and develop their practice over the period of the project.
In June 2021, the online project Crossing Waters x Everyone Knows (you’e not part of the island) went live
Thanks to the artists, mentors (Ingrid Pollard, Alberta Whittle and Ajamu X) and all at Transmission.

Clarinda Tse: interact with Clarinda Tse’s project under toes cream dream here
Around April last year, Clarinda compiled notebooks of messy thoughts into a spreadsheet. This was further translated into an alternative archive programmed through boids*. Seeking to find a space that she can remember from a distance, where language has a constant shift and movement, this manifested into a digital
interface titled under-toes-cream-dream.
*Boids is an artificial life program, developed by Craig Reynolds in 1986, which simulates the flocking behaviour of birds.
