Creative Practitioner Residencies – non-fiction writing 2022

Bothy Project’s 2022 non-fiction writing residents were Gaar AdamsAnna BaumSophie LauLisette May MonroeEleanor McCullough and Natasha Ruwona. The writers were selected for week-long residencies at Sweeney’s Bothy, Isle of Eigg as part of our Creative Practitioner Residencies series. These residencies were open to UK based writers with between three and six years of writing experience, but who have yet to publish a book or similarly major body of work.

The selection panel included Cal Flyn, Tom Jeffreys and Arusa Qureshi.

An online discussion with the non-fiction writing residents took place on Wednesday 7 December 2022. The residents were joined by Orkney-based writer Cal Flyn who was part of the residency selection panel. This event marked the first of Bothy Project’s ‘in discussion’ series which brings together cohorts of residents to share and discuss their work and research. A recording of the event is available to watch below.

We are very grateful to Creative Scotland for their support of these residencies.
